Hi! I’m Diana. Dwell & Drizzle is my semi-frequent newsletter at the nexus of housing, climate, activism, Toronto life and politics.

Why subscribe?

To be perfectly honest, I don’t know exactly what this newsletter will include and how it will feel yet. Maybe that’s the fun of it? To find direction along the way and be part of the journey.

What I do know is that there is a clear gap of people talking about the intersection of climate and housing justice. As a young person, I’ve been acutely aware of the climate crisis for most of my life and I’ve been impacted by anxiety about the uncertainty of the future. As a young person living in downtown Toronto, I’ve struggled several times to find affordable and well-maintained housing.

At the young age of 25, I’m an activist, a community organizer, and former federal NDP candidate. The housing and climate movements inspire me and make me believe that a better future is possible — but how can they work to address these crisis simultaneously? Regarding politics, I ran because I believe in bridging electoral politics and grassroots activism. Community-based accountability and solutions are where it’s at, but governments can provide the resources and scale necessary to keep up with the urgency of these issues.

That’s enough for now. We’ll figure it out along the way.

Stay up-to-date!

Don’t miss out. Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox when you subscribe. It’s all free and you can pop in at your leisure.
